Privacy Policy

This policy describes the visitor data handled when this site is used, the purposes for that data, and the limited situations in which it may be shared. It applies to Iredell County Court Docket and does not change the court-record access rules used by the Iredell County Clerk of Superior Court or the North Carolina eCourts Portal. Continued use of the site means acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered in a third-party search tool is sent to the provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies any result. Iredell County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained so that it can be answered. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, our servers may receive standard technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address associated with the device
  • The browser and version used for the visit
  • The device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on them
  • The referring site, if one is provided
  • The time of each page request

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device that help show how visitors use the site, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers help aggregate that traffic information. A browser can be set to block cookies, although some features may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operating the site and improving page performance
  • Routing a search request to the relevant partner service
  • Assessing which pages are useful and which need attention
  • Finding and correcting technical problems
  • Delivering advertising that may be relevant to an interest

No Court-Record Data on File

This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It offers general routing information for the Iredell County Clerk of Superior Court, Iredell Superior Court and District Court, and the statewide Portal. G.S. 7A-109 and G.S. 132-1 address public court-record access; they do not make this site a custodian of those records. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles of third parties.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes on this site are operated by outside companies. Information placed in those tools is governed by the partner's policy, retention, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links on the site may lead to the Iredell County Clerk, trial-court resources, Portal, legal-aid organizations, or third-party search services. A visit to an outside service is governed by that service's privacy policy, so review it before providing personal information.

Some advertising partners may track activity across sites to tailor advertising. That activity occurs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be received by:

  • Search partners that process a query submitted through a site tool
  • Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
  • Advertising networks that serve ads on site pages
  • Law-enforcement or government authorities when a valid legal order requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

We use reasonable standard practices to protect collected data. No internet-connected service is completely secure, however, and a breach-free system cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor provided personal data, we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

North Carolina court-record access is governed in part by G.S. 7A-109 and G.S. 132-1. Those statutes do not turn a public Portal display into an unrestricted record: G.S. 1-72.1 permits restriction of covered judicial records, and confidential, sealed, sensitive, juvenile, and some domestic-violence information may not display electronically. For data held by this site, you may:

  • Ask for a copy of data we have about you
  • Ask that inaccurate data be corrected
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of certain data-processing activities

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised from time to time. A revised version will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
